Having played the crap out of Unreal Tournament 2004 (which is the title that pretty much got me into both modding and collecting PC games), this was quite a blast to the past. It's a pretty fun story-based First person shooter that is similar to other fun titles from the early 2000s, such as Red faction and Halo. The graphics are quite colorful and there seems to be some fans of Alien/H.R. Giger on the design team, which makes for some cool and creepy missions. The characters are all fairly likeable, and there is some charming humor at times. I like the way the game gradually unveils more and more backstory to the main crew of your ship as you progress, letting you get to know the characters more.

Now, while I did enjoy the game, there are a couple of issues:
The
game does have some collision issues, though I recall them all being
fairly harmless - things like clipping through objects that appear
solid. During one boss fight I actually got launched into a hole in the
wall and got stuck, which ended up making it so the boss couldn't hit me
but I could hit it. Thankfully, after killing it, I was eventually able
to squeeze my way back out and end the level. Towards the end of the
game, there is a large outdoor area at a base with a very large
invisible wall. Things like this bother me because with such a large and
atmospheric environment, the player is likely to want to explore and it
is strange to suddenly be blocked off by an unseen, unexplained force.
The game also have some sexism issues, as is unfortunately present in a few Unreal games. The Liandri Angels "heavy armor" is absurdly designed to be an excuse to have a large portion of her nearly naked body visible. The medium and lower tier armor also feature those silly "boob cups" which would senselessly endanger the wearer. Male characters by contrast are dressed in practical-looking suits of armor.
